Ursula  vive desde1989 en Erongarícuaro, Michoacán, un pueblo mágico por sus habitantes nativos y los “agregados”. Tiene un ambiente muy agradable por ser tan chico y ofrece todo lo que cuerpo y alma necesitan. Hay cambios constantes por los foráneos. Sin embargo, la sonrisa, la amabilidad y la tolerancia de los habitantes persisten.
Ursula, de nacionalidad alemana y con estudios de agricultura en Alemania, siempre se ha inclinado hacia la naturaleza y el arte. Trabaja con niños de diferentes edades el área de ecología. Cuando su familia -tiene 2 hijos de 10 y 14 años - y el trabajo lo permiten, se dedica al batik. Lo aprendió de su esposo Francisco Castilleja en 1982, exponiendo y vendiendo las obras en el parque de Coyoacan,D.F.  Ahora sus trabajos están muy ligadas a la cultura de Michoacán, la naturaleza, el hombre en sí. El batik (dibujar con cera) es una técnica que según la artista solamente permite mostrar belleza y harmonia, algo en que hay que enfatizar mucho en nuestros tiempos. Es un arte que fascina porque tiene momentos que no son totalmente bajo control. Hay sorpresas hasta el final. Ella prefiere trabajar con la tela típica de Michoacan, la manta.

Realizó entre 1995 y 2006 tres exposiciones de Batik en Alemania:
                        “El quinto sol”
                        “El hombre de maíz”
                        “Wasser, agua, itsï”

Ursula ofrece durante el año varios talleres de Batik de cupo limitado (5 personas maximo), abierto siempre para personas del pueblo que la acogió.

Ursula  is living since 1989 in Erongarícuaro, Michoacan, a magic village because of its native inhabitants and the” newcomers”. Its ambiente is very pleasing as it is very small but offers everything your body and soul need. There are constant changes because of the foreigners but the open smile, the kindness and tolerance of the natives persist.
Ursula studied agriculture in Germany and always has been attached to nature and art. She works normally with children and young people of different ages in the area of ecology. When family -she has two sons of 10 and 14 years –and work do allow it, she dedicates herself to the batik. She learnt it from her husband Francisco Castilleja in 1982, exposing her work in Coyoacan, D.F. on sundays. Her work is linked very much to the culture from Mexico, nature and the human being. According to the artist, Batik(=drawing with wax) is a tecnique which only allowes to show beauty and harmony, aspects so important our days. It is a fascinating art because it has moments which are not under complete control. There are surprises until the end.
She prefers working with the typical fabric from Michoacan,, manta.

The artist realized between 1995 and 2006 three expositions in Germany:
“The fifth sun”
“The man made of corn”
“Wasser, agua, itsï”

During the year Ursula offers a couple of workshops for max. 5 persons/weekend in her house, inviting always people from the village which received her.

Ursula lebt seit 1989 in Erongaricuaro, Michoacan, ein magisches Dorf durch seine mexikanischen und zugereisten Bewohnern. Es hat ein angenehmes Ambiente da es sehr klein ist aber alles zu bieten hat was Leib und Seele benoetigen. Durch die Auslaender gibt es staendige Veraenderungen aber das offene Laecheln, die Zuvorkommenheit und Toleranz der nativen Einwohner bleiben.
Ursula studierte Landwirtschaft in Deutschland und ist seit jeher stets mit Natur und Kunst verbunden. Sie arbeitet normalerweise mit Kindern und Jugendlichen auf dem Gebiet der Oekologie. Wenn Familie – sie hat 2 Soehne im Alter von 10 und 14 Jahren – und Arbeit es zulassen widmet sie sich der Kunst. Sie lernte es von ihrem Mann Francisco Castilleja 1982. Damals stellte sie ihr Werk sonntags  im Park von Coyoacan, D.F. aus. Ihr Werk ist sehr stark mit der Kultur von Mexiko, Natur und Menschen verbunden. Laut der Kuenstlerin ist Batiken eine Technik die nur Harmonie und Schoenheit erlaubt, Aspekte, die im heutigen Leben immer mehr notwendig sind. Es ist eine faszinierende Kunst, da nicht alle Momente ganz unter Kontrolle sind. Es gibt Ueberraschungen bis zum Ende.
Sie arbeitet mit Vorliebe mit dem typischen Stoff von Michoacán, manta.

Die Kuenstlerin kann zwischen 1995 und 2006 drei Ausstellungen in Deutschland vorweisen:
“Die fuenfte Sonne”
“Der Mensch aus Mais”
“Wasser, agua, itsï”

Unter dem  Jahr bietet Ursula mehrere Batikkurse fuer maximal 5 Personen/Wochenende in ihrem Haus an. Es ist immer auch offen fuer Interessierte der nativen Bevoelkerung, aus dem Dorf, das sie so warm aufgenommen hat.
